We were going to do everything necessary to produce an outstanding crop. Hoes, machetes and shovels are the tools of the trade on steep hillsides. We also purchased insect traps, organic fertilizer and processing equipment. Everything to produce a good crop of mountain grown Arabica coffee is done by hand. Renerio's instructions were to do anything and everyting that would make the farm produce better coffee. Starting with pruning the neglected plants, cleaning the Finca of poor plants, replanting and fertilizing. The once pale green bushes had become vibrantly green and loaded with a first rate crop by the fall of 2005.
